Consignment FAQ
 QuestionAnswer
How quickly do I get paid out when the car is sold?Allow up to 21 days to get paid out, depending on the type of funding and payment.
I have a loan/lease/lien on my car, do I have to pay it off myself after you sell my car?No, we will just need a 10-day pay-off figure from the bank and we will handle the pay off and complete the transaction.
I think I owe more for my car than I can sell it for. (Being “upside down”) Can I still consign it?Yes. As part of the service we will advise you on your expected return from the sale of the vehicle. We will then arrange a payoff for your loan and you will only need to supply us with the outstanding balance to complete the deal.
How long does it take to sell my car?The used car market is variable, but on average our consignments sell in around 3 weeks when following our recommended pricing.
What documents do I need to have to consign a car?We need a copy of the current registration and valid photo ID. (EG Driver’s license.)
My registration is expired, can I still consign my car?Yes, but you will need to post fees to renew your registration prior to us selling the vehicle. Do not delay doing this as you will incur penalties from the DMV which cannot be passed on to the new owner.
My car is registered outside California, can I still consign it?Yes, as long as you can physically bring the vehicle to us and can provide valid ID and a clean title. Note however that cars from some states, especially East Coast states, are less desirable to buyers which will be reflected in the selling price.
My car has an accident history, can I still consign it?Yes, if you have minor accidents that have been professionally repaired we can still market your vehicle.
My car has a “branded” title (Fire, Flood, Salvage etc.), can I still consign it?Sorry, we don’t sell any vehicles that do not have clean titles
My car has had frame damage that was repaired, can I still consign it?Sorry, we don’t sell any vehicles that have had frame damage
My car has altered/unverified mileage, can I still consign it?Sorry, we don’t sell any vehicles with unverifiable mileage
I need to keep my car to drive. Can I still consign it?Sorry, no. We need to have your vehicle here to be able to sell it on consignment. We would recommend our Listing Pro service instead.
How will my car be cared for by your company on consignment? You car will be carefully handled, securely warehoused, detailed and fully insured during the entire consignment process. If necessary we will deal with taking it for any required servicing, smog check and cosmetic repairs.
I heard dealers will tell you they can get you a high price for your car, but then sell it and return you much less without telling you.We guarantee to never alter the value you will be returned for the vehicle without your direct permission. We are licensed and bonded with the California DMV and the State Board of Equalization and have been in business in Orange County for over 12 years.
What if people make offers less than the asking price? We will screen all offers and forward you any we feel are reasonable, to give you the option of accepting or declining them. However if you don’t want to be disturbed with any offers below the set asking price just let us know.
What happens if my car doesn’t get any interest? We carefully monitor the response to all our listings. If your vehicle is not generating enough leads we will advise you on alterations that we recommend to improve the response.
What happens if my car doesn’t sell? Our standard consignment listing fee covers you for 30 days of service. If the vehicle is still not sold you can renew the vehicle for another 30 days for only $195. Alternatively if you desire we can offer to purchase the vehicle outright from you. (See our Sales service sell.aspx)
What happens if I decide I want to sell the car myself after starting the consignment? If for any reason you decide to terminate the consignment before the end of the normal period we will be happy to return your vehicle, provided there is no pending sale in progress. Other than the initial listing fee there is no charge or obligation to us.
